Description

Using a national survey of state and local public health workers (the 2017 Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey or PH WINS), we sought to describe the informatics needs of the public health workforce. While informaticians represent just over one percent of the workforce, informatics skills are widely recognized as important for transformation of the public health enterprise. Yet there exist significant data and informatics skills gaps in the broader public health workforce.

Learning Objective: Describe the informatics competency needs among workers in local and state public health agencies within the United States
