Description

We present the final report of a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee that examined the potential for integrating social needs care into health care delivery. A literature search identified references, three public sessions were held to obtain further information, and the committee met five times in closed session to deliberate. The report highlights health information and technology needs associated with social and medical care integration, among other topics.

Learning Objective: After participating in this session, the learner should be better able to understand the findings and content of a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) report on integrating ‘social needs care’ into the delivery of health care, to improve health outcomes.
