Description

While multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) are considered the “gold standard” of care for patients with cancer, there is wide variation in their performance. This study adopted the Delphi methodology to develop and validate a 2-dimensional performance matrix for MDTs to assess their performance against other teams and monitor their improvement over time. Preliminary results have been collected and analysed from Delphi sessions with senior clinicians.

Learning Objective: After participating in this session, the learner should be better able to:
1. Evaluate the performance of multidisciplinary teams by measuring key components against standardised criteria
2. Identify priority areas for improvement for multidisciplinary teams and monitor improvement over time
3. Formulate an approach to develop and validate a 2-dimensional matrix and understand the use of Delphi metholody in developing measurements of constructs in cancer care
