Description

The objective of this study was to develop and evaluate a prototype of a pharmacogenomics clinical decision support (PGx-CDS) interface with user-centered design methods. The study had two phases: qualitative interview to assess providers’ information needs (phase I) and prototype development and evaluation (phase II). Fourteen providers participated in this study, 90% of providers were interested in PGx-CDS system. Interviews yield 8 unique themes related to PGx-CDS. Usability testing showed high satisfaction from the prototype.

Learning Objective: After participating in this poster, the learner should be able to:
Understand the current needs with pharmacogenomics clinical decision support, especially with TPMT from health care providers.
Learn the user-centered approach to develop and evaluate PGx-CDS prototype for clinical implementation.
