Description
We conducted a case study using data from a remote monitoring (RM) company in Texas from 2016 to 2018. Blood pressure, blood glucose, or both were monitored daily for 2,506 patients with hypertension or diabetes by 76 physicians. Our findings suggest that RM processes require human processes (e.g., to ensure daily monitoring and differentiate real clinical emergencies that require physician intervention) to augment the automated processes for collecting data to be effective.
Learning Objective: To understand the key elements of a cost-effective remote monitoring processes and learn how to best engage patients in remote monitoring
