Description
Current ethical frameworks consider public social media messages as public data. As part of an ongoing research project, Instagram posts were collected for #rheumatoidarthritis. Once the images were collected, the coders encountered ethical discord with sharing human images as part of the research results. This poster will focus on questions raised regarding the ethical use of social media images, and how health-related social media images are reported as research findings.
Learning Objective: At the conclusion of this session the learner will be able to describe three ethical issues related to social media research
