Description

The Vaccine Code Set Management Service was established to implement new tools for management and delivery of vaccine codes and related information. In April 2019, the service deployed an end-user web service to facilitate more automated use of the information published by CDC. The poster describes the service and how terminologies are managed, changes to the content management workflow, changes to the public health organization’s workflow, and lessons learned that other organizations can use when deploying a web service or similar functionality.

Learning Objective: Learn barriers and benefits to introducing a web-service for automating health information system data updates.
Develop possible options for changing data management workflows to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
