Description

Patient Timeline Explorer (PT Explorer) has been developed for research-oriented patient exploration as a dynamic movie of the patient’s medical history. It enables a continuous, multi-resolution view where patient encounters are presented in an interactive timeline. PT Explorer integrates clinic scheduling, biobanking, billing, images, treatments, and patient reported outcomes. We demonstrate the tool using the Moffitt Cancer Center data warehouse (111,667 research patients, 5,490 patient-oriented data elements), however the framework can model any encounter-based dataset.

Learning Objective: Objective 1: Understand the longitudinal data limitations in existing cohort exploration tools
Objective 2: Understand the ability for informatics applications and integrated data sources to provide new knowledge
Objective 3: Learn a possible solution to navigate and visualize longitudinal clinical data elements in cohort selection and identification for cancer research
