Description

Optimal and timely treatment of acute leukemia requires a complex evaluation of a patient’s prognosis and suitability for hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Given the difficulty and importance of timely diagnosis, complete testing and treatment, HonorHealth is developing a mobile application to support clinicians. Through intensive interviewing with clinicians across multiple specialties, we developed models for patient and information flow, and identified key use cases and target clinicians for a mobile app to support optimization for diagnostic testing and treatment for patients with acute leukemia.

Learning Objective: Attendees will learn about the challenges facing clinicians for optimizing treatment for acute leukemia and opportunities for app-based decision support tools to enable clinicians to identify appropriate cytogenetic and molecular tests, determine treatment prognosis, and identify patients suitable for hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
