Description

With the expeditious implementation of novel clinical applications and tools this generates an increase in the variety, volume, and variability of data available within the healthcare domain available for analysis. It's imperative to employ data governance frameworks to allow clinician and administrative users to explore the data visually in order to quickly generate hypotheses and derive insights about clinical care operations or patient treatment pathways over time. We developed a custom Tableau - REDCap data integration portal and self- service mechanism allowing users to explore the data rapidly without the need for any coding or backend expertise on data integration. In addition, we developed an agile data governance and analytics framework that can be reused across all analytics projects in order to facilitate collaborative translational research projects and derive actionable insights.

Learning Objective: Understand the wealth of features available from integrating Tableau and REDCap data for translational research projects
Appreciate the self- service analytics approach to rapid data access and hypothesis generation
Recognize the value of employing an agile data governance framework for facilitating analytics projects within healthcare operational and administrative projects
