Description

About 1 in 5 patients suffer from inadequate or poor bowel prep in advance of a colonoscopy. Prior studies have shown that this leads to a decrease in adenoma detection rate, increased time spent in completing colonoscopy procedure, as well as an overall increase in cost of care upto 20%. There has always been a patient need to improve this aspect of care. With the shift towards value based health in the American healthcare system, there is now a business case for urgent improvement. Digital care pathways linked through SMART on FHIR have potential to guide patients through complex periprocedural guidance in an intutuitve manner, but there is lack of published evidence on their effectiveness.

Learning Objective: 1. To Implement a periprocedural digital navigation program linked with EHR
2. To evaluate effectiveness of the program using quasi experimental methods
