Description

Clinical Decision Support systems logic cannot replace clinical judgement and non-actionable alerts are likely within an Antimicrobial Stewardship system. Customization of an Antimicrobial Stewardship module at Mayo Clinic reduces the noise of the non-actionable alerts and enhances reporting. The number of days an alert is present for review decreased from 52 days to 17 days for a positive culture and no antimicrobial rule and from 496 days to 241 days for an antimicrobial timeout rule.

Learning Objective: Describe a novel approach to antimicrobial stewardship clinical decision support.
