Description

Intensity is an important attribute of physical activities that should be considered in assessing and recommending physical activities to patients. However, representing a subjective experience like activity intensity in such a way that delivers consistent meaning can be challenging. Review of existing physical activity questionnaires showed that activity intensity is commonly described with general severity modifiers, activity examples, and physiological responses. Inconsistencies arose when the intensity was described only with activity examples.

Learning Objective: 1. The audience will understand the inconsistency problems in the current methods of representing activity intensity
