Description
Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are important in pediatric surgery to ensure best practices. We performed a literature review of CDSS studies for pediatric surgery, and identified 8 relevant papers. Of those, no studies examined patient outcomes, 5/8 (62.5%) reported user acceptance, and 3/8 (37.5%) reported accuracy of the CDSS. There is a paucity of data on the acceptance and effectiveness of CDSS tools in pediatric surgery.
Learning Objective: Review the scope of available literature around effeciveness and usability of clinical decision support systems in pediatric surgery.
