Description
In psychiatry, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) represents the reference for clinical practice. However, the DSM-5 manual is complex and difficult to consult. In this work, we developed an IBM-Watson based system to support DSM-5 reading and validated it using retrospective case studies. We found that our system can be used to support DSM-5 reading and interpretation, provided that real-world testing and semantic model improvement are added to this implementation.
Learning Objective: - Assess the feasibility of using IBM Watson to support the use and interpretation of DSM-5 in psychiatry.
