Description
Secondary use of electronic medical record (EMR) data has proven more challenging than anticipated but is possible with careful curation. Accurate transformation of raw EMR data into meaningful information frequently requires algorithmic processing that relies on comparison to clinician-derived gold standards derived from manual chart review. We developed an extensible, web-based framework for consensus development and evaluation of gold standard annotation by interdisciplinary teams of clinicians and data scientists.
Learning Objective: 1)Learn about challenges associated with algorithmic derivation of new annotations on EHR/EMR data. 2) Learn about how we organized interdisiplinary teams, empowered with technology, to overcome these chalenges
