Description

Clinical data is often housed in multiple sources across an institution. Many of these data sources are legacy databases that do not have modern APIs built around them. Retrieval of data for research purposes can be slow and terminology can vary across data sources. This poster outlines the use of a GraphQL server to combine data across clinical systems with standard terminologies, and to facilitate searching and querying data by common Concept IDs.

Learning Objective: After participating in this session, the learner should be better able to:
- Understand one approach to retrieving clinical data from multiple sources using standard terminology
- Understand the benefits of using a GraphQL server over a traditional REST API
