Description

A technology transition from one EHR to a new system is a time of increased workload, stress and complexity throughout the organization as the technology change results in changes to workflow, information flow and comfort level. This study explores how concepts from resilience engineering can be used to explore how an organization was able to cope with this added complexity, both immediately following the change and across the year following implementation.

Learning Objective: -Define what resilience engineering is and what the essentials of resilience engineering are.
- Understand how the essentials of resilience were used during an EHR implementation as well as in ongoing adaptation to the EHR.
