Description

Session Notes: This session does not offer CME/CE or MOC-II credit.

Abstract Body: There has been a great deal of both hope and hype surrounding the potential role of AI in healthcare in real-world clinical settings. This panel will bring together experts working in different areas of healthcare who will discuss their point of view on implementing AI solutions. The panelists represent academic medical centers, a medical research foundation and industry and their presentations will offer a window into how the needs and priorities of different settings influence their perspectives, The discussion will begin with brief descriptions of the problems they would like to see addressed, the challenges they see, the types of solutions they would like to see implemented, as well as their perspectives on lessons learned in this field thus far. The panel will then use their experiences as a basis to discuss broader issues, with particular emphasis on issues related to achieving trust, including explainability and evaluation of methodologies; fairness and representation in terms of who has access to such systems and who benefits from them; and finally, user acceptance.
