Bio

Dr. Jane L. Snowdon is Associate Chief Health Officer in the Center for Artificial Intelligence, Research, and Evaluation at IBM Watson Health.  She is responsible for managing global efforts to advance research evaluation studies and build a study portfolio for Watson Health solutions in the areas of government health and human services, genomics, and clinical trial matching.  Jane was selected for the 2019 Achievement in Industry Award from the American Public Health Association's (APHA) Applied Public Health Statistics (APHS) Section for outstanding contributions to statistics and public health at the APHA Annual Meeting in November, 2019. Prior to this role, Jane served as Director of IBM Watson Health Partnerships, Chief Innovation Officer of IBM Federal, and Director of the IBM Federal Cloud Innovation Center.  For over two decades, Jane was responsible for managing and developing novel applications of mathematics for IBM and its clients at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center.  Jane received her Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, M.S. from the University of Michigan, and B.S. with honors from the Pennsylvania State University, all in Industrial Engineering.  Jane is a recognized thought leader who frequently speaks on the future of health and information technology, has published more than eighty articles, and holds 1 patent.  Jane has been a member of several university and non-profit advisory boards. Jane is a Senior Member of IIE and IEEE, and a Member of AMIA, APHA, CASE, INFORMS, NYAS, and SWE.
