My passion is Big Data Science to improve health and healthcare. My recent work has focused on enabling interoperability at scale through development of common ontologies, data mapping methodologies, and data transformation tools. I am Director of the Query Core for Harvard’s Patient Centered Outcomes Research Network (PCORnet) Clinical Data Research Network. This is part of a national initiative to meld research, medical records, and patient engagement. I frequently utilize Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside (i2b2) as a substrate to enable distributed, cross-platform, standards-based research analytics. i2b2 is a clinical data analytics platform in use at over 150 sites nationwide.
