Description

Patient transfusion is a critical component of the care of patients undergoing stem-cell transplantation. We built a point-of-care visualization application to optimize workflow around platelet transfusion which was launched October 2018. Initial usage of the application was high and consistent, as were the number of patients loaded into the application. Further work is needed to evaluate clinical outcomes after implementation of this application.

Learning Objective: Understand initial usage patterns of a point-of-care SMART-on-FHIR application to improve platelet transfusion workflow.
