Description

Clinical decision support (CDS) increasingly encompasses content to support patients and clinicians alike, such as decision aides for shared decision-making. Actions are therefore necessary to insure reliable and meaningful content within “patient-centered CDS” (PCCDS). The Patient-Centered CDS Learning Network led three parallel efforts to promote PCCDS: addressing issues of trust in PCCDS content; recommending standards for PCCDS; and developing an “action plan” for implementing PCCDS for managing chronic pain and opioids.

Learning Objective: Understand the developing concept of patient-centered clinical decision support (PCCDS) and how the Learning Network is promoting PCCDS through policy, technical, and impelementation recommendation efforts.
