Description
VA Portland Healthcare System (VAPORHCS) developed a web-based application to support the complex workflow of the scheduling phase of the asynchronous, multi-way communication consult processes. Based on the feedback from staff and service leadership, the tool helps to standardize practice across services; promote timely completion of consult actions; improve staff satisfaction, veteran access to care, and compliance with VA directive. A time-and-motion study was planned to rigorously evaluate the impact of the informatics tool.
