Description

Web-based delivery of multisource feedback (MSF) surveys provides a method of quantitatively assessing and potentially improving physician teamwork and leadership behaviors. We conducted a retrospective cohort review of 1190 physicians who underwent assessment and tiered educational interventions based on their multisource feedback scores. We found that baseline scores vary by specialty and improve based on feedback, web-based education, and individualized coaching. In particular, physicians who start with low scores have the greatest potential for improvement.

Learning Objective: After participating in this session, the learner should be better able to:

Understand the specialty specific differences in multisource feedback scores.
Understand how leadership scores among physicians improve based differently among different coaching strategies, including survey only, web based, and directed coaching.
