Description

Cancer treatment-related cardiotoxicity can occur due to direct effects on cardiac myocytes and may include damage to the vascular endothelium, hemodynamic flow alterations, and thrombotic events. Incidence of cardiotoxicity of cancer treatment vary from 7.4% to 13.3%. Leveraging an existing cohort, we identified a significant association between exposure to cardiotoxic chemotherapy and subsequent MI.

Learning Objective: Audiences will get new knowledge about how to extract cardiotoxic chemotherapy through knowledge bases and about association between exposure to cardiotoxic chemotherapy and subsequent MI.
