The Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) program at the University of Washington (UW) offers a range of innovative informatics educational opportunities at the MS, PhD and post-doctoral level providing preparation for both applied and foundational/research career trajectories. Our program includes nationally/internationally known faculty with cutting edge informatics research portfolios including a total of more than 100 active ongoing research projects: (a few examples include, but not limited to: diverse areas such as consumer health informatics, precision medicine, big data analytics in biomedicine, natural language processing in health care, and public health informatics). We utilize advanced educational approaches to facilitate interdisciplinary team science, strong partnerships with the industry, clinical partners, health care systems and agencies, and a translational approach to biomedical and health informatics. In addition to an on-site research focused MS, PhD, postdoctoral program we offer a fully online applied clinical informatics MS (the CIPCT or Clinical Informatics and Patient Centered Technologies program) as well as an ACGME accredited clinical informatics fellowship.
