Description

We conducted a review of educationally focused mHealth apps for patients with heart failure to determine readability level and related functions. Of the nine mHealth apps that met our criteria, only one was at or below the recommended 5th grade reading level. In addition, more than half of mHealth apps that seek to provide patient education are written above the average for US patients’ reading level of 8th grade.
