Board 171 - Informed Consent Through Gamification

5:00 PM–6:30 PM Nov 18, 2019 (US - Eastern)

Columbia Hall

Description

Gamifying the informed consent process may improve patients’ knowledge and understanding of a complex topic. This pilot study conducted a small experiment to test participant’s perceptions about learning regarding NIH All of Us Project’s consent process using three different formats, including gamification. Forty participants were polled to assess interest in the different formats of the consent form. Results indicate that an interactive game format would be best for improving uptake of the consent process.
