Bio

I am a hybrid biomedical informatician and molecular epidemiologist in training who specializes in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacogenomics. I have expertise in genetics(BS), health services research(MS), and biomedical informatics(PhD) and am currently pursuing postdoctoral training in cancer molecular epidemiology.

My recent scientific research has focused on elucidating the pharmacogenomics of metformin for treatment personalization and potential repurposing for breast cancer treatment. My methodological research has focused on developing a framework and analytical approaches for multilevel modeling of clinical research using scalable and portable techniques that bridge between the molecular, clinical, and population levels. This research integrates electronic health record and claims data with ‘omics data and incorporates intermediary phenotypes and biomarkers into data mining, enabling both big data and traditional analytical approaches. Both areas of research aim to advance our understanding of treatment personalization for individuals and populations.
